Bargain :)

NEW 2" Variable Polarising filter for just £24.50 Inc. delivery from Portugal.

Thought I'd try a bit of Lunar for a change at that price :)

Just taken delivery of some big boxes that look like they could have come from Ikea.

Hopefully, and without too much frustration I can assemble this flatpack to look something like this... :)

Hi Steven, you need a Flickr account (free) then copy and paste the 'source code'.Do a search on here as there are some threads about it somewhere! :)

That's a very nice bit of kit Pete, your Explore Scientific eyepieces will be a treat in it.

Thanks Martyn.

I don't think the two supplied eyepieces will impress me :)

Wixey not required, but will definitely need some "Baz's Knobs" if you are still doing them.

Book:

Astronomy Hacks - Tips and Tools for Observing the Night Sky.

Looks like it has every scope mod and observing technique going.

Celestron X-Cel LX Eyepieces - 7mm and 25mm so far - Great improvement over the standard EPs - Has a wide FOV and excellent for eye relief which helps us with specs. Tried without specs but not so good perhaps due to my astigmatism - not sure.

Wollensak 12.5mm 2" Eyepiece - Works surprisingly well - Nice higher power eyepiece with 9 fully coated glass elements and a field of view of 55 degrees. Exit aperture is 16.8mm, eye relief is 10mm. Fits all 2" focusers, anodized aluminum barrel is threaded for filters. Very lightweight for a 2" at 9 ounces.

Looks like it is a quality eyepiece intended for another use that has been re-cased for astronomy - can be obtained from the Surplus Shed.

I find the same, and I do remember reading some where why it's the case - but I can't remember where.
